First Casino in Manchester

The world's major casino operator, Harrah's Entertainment, is bidding to run England’s first Las Vegas-style casino in Manchester, but is cautious of the "winner's curse", a company source said on Friday.

Last month, Manchester was the winner of a competition to host the “super-casino”, which although small by Las Vegas standards, is likely to be giant, with 5,000 square meters of gaming space, 1,250 slot machines and 2,700 employees.

The winner is also expected to help with local renewal projects. But a Harrah's representative said it was too soon to come up with an estimated.
